{ Last years Christmas Tree }

While pulling out the decorations for this year, I was thinking how my Christmas tree has changed over time. I'm posting a few photos of our tree from last year. Taken on Christmas Eve~

I love this photo, so romantic with just the lights from the tree. I left off some of my most precious glass ornaments with two young cats in the house I didn't want to take any chances.

Same photo, with a flash. You can see the decorations better. The angel on the top of the tree is one like we had on my childhood tree. The original one was damaged. Thankfully I found another one on Ebay =) My two sisters each bought one too! Just to have memories of "home".

So what is special on your tree?

{ 1948 Ford Pick Up Truck }

Vintage 1948 Ford F-3 pick up. Ok, it's a rusty truck. But, I love old, rusty trucks. This truck was just great. Owned by a 16 year old boy. Can you imagine the fun riding around in this truck. This truck must have seen a lot of work and it was still going strong.

Miss Fiona~

It's the Little things......... Miss Fiona my new baby. Almost 4 weeks old. My little stray was found in an abandoned building. She was only about two weeks old when I got her. Today was the first time she has been running around and playing. For how tiny she is, she even knows her name. She has stolen our hearts.

Simple Beauty- Tiger Lily

The simple beauty of a Tiger Lily. Their beauty is so fleeting, here one day and then gone. But, while they are here they bloom exquisitely.

Still Life- Black and White Wednesday

Original photo.

Just found Black and White Wednesday. I thought I would share one of my photos from Washington's Crossing State Park. This photo is from the tavern that George Washington stayed at the night before they crossed the Delaware for the battle of Trenton. Historic place, to walk where Washington walked.

Textured Tuesday- The Lake

My photo for Textured Tuesday by Kim Klassen.

I took this photo recently at Lake Noximixon State Park. It was a beatuiful day spent with my Honey.

I wanted to play with Kim's golden texture. I converted my photo to sepia {I love sepia} Then I added Kim's golden texture and set it to multiply with the opacity 47%. I cleaned up the center of the image leaving more texture around the edges. I added another layer of the golden texture, with a soft light effect setting the opacity to about 35%. I think the photo looks old and aged.

I decided to play more and make the photo look like an old 1940s photo. The frame is from Isabella LaFrance Photography

Now I am hopelessly addicted. Even more reasons to take more photos!

Photoshop....... the beginning

Today I decided to try working with Photoshop CS4. I've had it a while but have been reluctant to try it. I'm so used to working with Paint Shop Pro, for my pixels. I didn't know if I could find the time to learn a new program.

Well, I'm sorry I waited so long~ I recently discovered a new blog by Kim Klassen. She has wonderful photography tips and free textures. I've never worked with textures before. Her video was wonderful and showed how to use them in ten easy steps. I'm so glad I tried it.

This is a photo of my daugher in law Sarah that I took at the wedding. Sarah reminds me of a Princess in a secret garden. It's one of my favorite pictures. I used Kim's Golden texture on it. Converted the photo to sepia. Added a black vingette around the edges. Remember, I'm just learning this program today =)

I decided to participate in my first Textured Tuesday at Kim's blog.
This weeks photo assignment is people.

I can't wait to try more of Kim's textures on my photos. If your interested, please join her free texture lovin list. =)
