First Snow~

There is something magical about the first snow of winter. We had ours early this year, on Thanksgiving morning. Hubby and I went for a long walk in the snow, it was beautiful. Seeing the first snow brings back so many childhood memories. My best friend and I always called each other on the first snow fall for as long as I can remember. We would see who would be the "first" to call. I treasure those bitter sweet memories because my friend Terri is no longer here with me. But she is always in my heart, especially for the first snow~ Thinking of you T♥

Like Mom used to do~

,
Like Mom used to do~ pulling out the old family recipes for Thanksgiving tomorrow. There is such comfort in making them. I love seeing a recipe in my mothers hand writing. I miss her so. The traditional fare, with a new thing or two added from my husbands side of the family. The two sided blended together. No kiddie table yet, will have to wait for future grand children =) I'll be busy busy cooking tomorrow. I'm sure my furbabies will enjoy the smell of turkey coming from the oven. I think I'll need bigger plates for all the goodies =)

Last days of Fall~

There is fog on the mountain this morning. I can see it from the window that is here by my computer. Its a grey kind of day. It feels like winter is not far off now. Almost all the leaves are gone from the trees. The birds and squirrels are busy at my feeder. The cats miss laying in the sunny open windows, they now have turned to snuggling in blankets and curled up on the furniture. I too feel like snuggling in for the season. The roses are gone now too, they are bare stems shivering, waiting for the first blanket of snow~

Lost in scrapbooking~

Shhhhhhhhh... don't tell my dearest hubby, but I got lost in working on my scrapbook (actually it will be a hard bound book) using pictures from my son Chris' September wedding. Two months has flown by so fast. It is wonderful to relive the special day. The photographer, Karen Jennings did a outstanding job capturing the day. The photos are beautiful on there own. Its hard to decide if I want to embelish the pages with pretty elements.. I'll post some photos when I get some pages completed.

Last Days of Autumn~

Quiet fall morning. The birds were singing outside my back door waiting for their daily hand out.  It's interesting how they know I feed them each morning. They start gathering around jumping from branch to branch in the red Maple tree. I filled up the feeder with bread and seeds. The Nut hatch and Chickadees were quick to arrive. Of course soon the squirrels followed. My kitty Sparky and I enjoyed some snuggle time as we watched from the back door.

Soon to be craft room~

Starting a new home project. A computer/craft room. Formerly my son's bedroom, still part storage locker for him. But hopefully soon I can start working on the room and make it mine... Better start looking for ideas.

Setting up this blog is so much fun. Oh the possibilities.... the design, the layout... what to write about! I'm sure I won't be able to sleep tonight because of thinking about it...
